"You'll never know until you do."

DAY 04: January 30, 2019
Today, Ms. Hani has a grade 8 Cambridge Mathematics class, and this will be my first day of teaching them.
However, Ms. Hani has to attend to a workshop today, so Mr. Ubun was the one to observe me (later that day, they discussed my performance and marked my evaluation sheet).
At first, it was a little but awkward, because I am used to facing a lot of students and a lot of classes for a day. But today, I only have one class with five students.

This experience is REALLY new to me.
I noticed that the students were a little shy as well. When I asked them question, they answered me with a low-volume voice.
The task for today was to create a friendly atmosphere and to deliver the topic so that EACH student will participate – how can not all students participate if there are only five of them, one is event absent.

At the end of the class, I was successfully able to do my main objective – that was to create a good atmosphere with my students, so that next time they won’t be too shy or too silent anymore.
They are all very cheerful and smart students.

I am going to try and make more engaging activities for
the next class.
